In response to audio recordings published by the Superdeporte newspaper, Valencia CF wish to publicly state:
1. These audio recordings are from a meal that took place on April 27th in a restaurant with five Valencian businessmen and the VCF Foundation, to promote the solidarity event 'La Nit de València.'
2. The recordings published in Superdeporte are edited and adulterated to convey a false or biased narrative, within the context of a general conversation, and to try to generate controversy.
3. Superdeporte have committed a serious lack of professional ethics and an attack on privacy by publishing audio recordings taken out of context, from a private conversation and recorded illegitimately without the permission of the President of Valencia CF, Anil Murthy.
4. This move is part of the smear campaign against Valencia CF that Superdeporte have been carrying out in recent months.
5. This campaign began several months ago, after the club rejected a proposal by Superdeporte in which the newspaper tried to ensure its economic viability by charging Valencia CF tens of thousands of euros for advertising.
6. This matter is in the hands of the Valencia CF legal department, which is already studying the measures to be taken against Superdeporte and its director.
